Special General Meeting

Your SLT will present the proposed budget for 2025 and invites feedback from the congregation. We will also be looking for two new members for the SLT as Laura and Emily’s terms are coming to an end. Talk to Trevor or a member of the SLT if you are interested or want to learn more about serving in this way. We will also get an update on transition planning.

Previous minutes from the 2023 meeting, agenda, and proposed budget will be circulated closer to the date.

First Sunday of Advent - Hope

Second Sunday of Advent - Blue Christmas Service

The holidays can be wonderful, but can also bring grief and longing. The second Sunday in Advent is all about Peace.

During our Blue Christmas Service we reflect and remember the people we miss dreadfully , while exploring how Jesus is with us in our grief and sadness. Cityview regulars and newcomers are welcome to attend in person and seek some solace. Please consider inviting friends who may appreciate this special service focusing on the needs of all who mourn.

OpenTable Christmas Lunch

Garden Club News - club meeting

The Seed-to-Sky Garden Club meets in the Lower Hall and expertly maintains the community garden in our parking lot. The Garden Club welcomes Cityview’s plant enthusiasts and the general public to join them in their program of ongoing learning.

Topic: Stan will share what vegetables grow successfully in our local area and what strategies he uses to maximize success

Prayer Workshop

Life Groups are back!

After our summer break, Life Groups will start meeting again the week of September 16. All are welcome and not all current attendees are direct members of the Cityview church community. There is no cost to participate. Life Group gatherings happen online or in person and include socializing, bible study and time to pray for one another.

Life Group Picnic in the park

Life Groups (Cityview’s version of small group bible studies) will restart after summer break during the week of September 16th.

The week before, we’ll have a picnic in the park for all three Life Groups to spend some time together and catch-up on what everyone has been doing this summer.

If you are considering joining a Life Group this year, please come along and meet everyone!

Prince Edward park is at 21st and Sophia St. The park has a lawn, playground, and water spray park for the kids and kids-at-heart. Bring your own picnic supper and picnic blanket or lawn chairs.

Big Life is back!

After a well deserved break in July and August, our Big Life Sunday School classes are back for the Fall and Winter. Tune in to the service the week before (Sunday Sep 1st) to hear about updates to Big Life classes.
