Week of Prayer

Image description: Computer generated drawing of a gold, black, red, and blue butterfly in front of a golden background.

Join us as we intentionally pause to spend time reflecting and seeking God in a week of prayer. Weeks of prayer are always a significant time of peace, individual and collective growth, and spiritual renewal at Cityview.

The theme for the week is Wrestling with God. Wrestling with those things that we struggle with as identified by you a couple of weeks ago. I believe this week can be very powerful and transforming as we intentionally spend time pondering with God, sitting with God, and yes, even wrestling with God!

Here's how to use the guide:

  1. Read the passage for the day.

  2. Listen to the worship song.

  3. Read the passage a second time.

  4. Sit with God and pray.

  5. Reflect on the 4 questions listed in the guide

As always, we look forward to seeing how God moves amongst us and what is revealed to us over the week. If you are comfortable, please share on the whatsapp chat, in an email to Trevor, or during the feedback session on Sunday March 23, 2025.

Prayer Guides from past weeks of prayer are freely available on our resource page.

Image description: Painted image of a garden with multicoloured flowers against a blue sky.

The Seed-to-Sky Garden Club meets in our building and expertly maintains the community garden in our parking lot. The Garden Club welcomes Cityview’s plant enthusiasts to join them in their program of ongoing learning.

PRESENTATION:

For planting soon!

Hydrangeas are an integral part of the summer garden with their beautiful flowers that last for months.  This presentation will include identifying just a few of the 80 species in the Hydrangea genus that introduces new cultivars every year.  We will learn which cultivars are pollinator friendly, enjoy what the flower heads look like in the late winter, and of course cover pruning tips. To demonstrate, Jill will be bringing live specimens, one of which she will donate to our draw table.

PRESENTER:

Jill Wright is a long time member of the Richmond Garden Club and previous Chair of the Master Gardeners Association.  After taking the MG training and the Garden Design Program at UBC, she has applied her artistic flair to the many gardens she has created or remodeled.  She is very proud of coordinating the adoption of Paulik Park by the Richmond Garden Club and receiving a Volunteers are Stars civic award for overseeing the volunteers that maintain the garden.

WHAT TO BRING:

  • A mug for tea

  • A donation to the draw table or refreshments table

  • A pillow to cushion your chair (in case you get a metal one)

There is a $5 drop in fee for those who are not garden club members to help cover the costs of educational programming.
